Melaine is an immigrant from Cameroon, a country located in West Africa, and came to the US to further her studies. Melaine has a passion for service and preventative care so naturally she gravitated toward a career path in nursing.

While she has worked in different nursing capacities, she realized she could be more impactful in helping people in a provider role so she chose to advance her studies as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. The latter she holds in higher regard as she has a family history of depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and anxiety, and unfortunately has lost family members from neglect and lack of treatment for these disorders due to the stigma associated with mental health. This stigma is largely shared worldwide, and her goal is to try and dispel the untruths surrounding mental health one person at a time.

Melaine is seeing patients in-person and via telehealth Monday through Thursday from

8AM-5PM at Metroplex Medical Centres Frisco.
